Rustic and intimate, our unfenced camp is the only one of its kind in Madikwe. Adhering to ecotourism principles, we ensure that both you and we walk gently and responsibly through the African bush.
Madikwe is managed collaboratively by the North West Parks Board, lodge owners, and local communities, creating a conservation effort that boosts the local economy and benefits the region’s people. Established in 1991, the park began when the Bophuthatswana Parks Board purchased a 750km² area of cattle farms and initiated Operation Phoenix, one of the largest game relocation projects ever undertaken. Over 8,000 animals from 27 different species, including rhino, lion, elephant, and buffalo, were reintroduced to this land.
